Heather Alexander
Heather Alexander is a compassionate and down-to-earth Registered Psychologist who is passionate about helping individuals, couples, and families feel more connected, understood, and supported. She strives to create a safe, collaborative space where clients can explore challenges with curiosity and without judgment, while building healthier patterns and deeper emotional connection in their relationships and within themselves.
Heather earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Calgary and completed her Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology while working as a Behaviour Consultant supporting families and neurodiverse children. She completed her provisional hours at the Calgary Counselling Centre, where she provided therapy to individuals and couples navigating a wide range of mental health concerns.
Heather’s work is grounded in a compassionate, attachment-based, and trauma-informed approach. She has completed training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and integrates evidence-based practices to support healing, emotional regulation, and lasting change. She is particularly passionate about family work, incorporating Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) principles to help couples and families strengthen connection, communication, and emotional safety.
Heather enjoys supporting teens, women, couples, parents, and families, with particular interest in neurodiversity, separation and divorce, anxiety, depression, and breaking intergenerational cycles of trauma.
